Who can ride KARTS?

Anyone! It is public transportation.

Where can KARTS take me?

KARTS can take you anywhere you need to go, such as doctor appointments, grocery stores, drug stores, work or pleasure outings.

We also transport passengers to major medical facilities in Wake Forest, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill Monday through Friday.

How can I get a ride on KARTS?

Trip requests are taken Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Service requests for the following day are taken no later than 1:00 PM or as capacity allows.

How much does it cost if I pay?

Rates are determined by the mileage from the point of origin to your destination. Learn more about Rates here.

What are FareKards?

FareKards are pre-paid tickets purchased from our office that one can use in lieu of cash when riding KARTS. By purchasing FareKards, you also get a discount off the cash rate. Learn more about FareKards here.

KARTS Rider Responsibilities

Z

Know where you are going and be sure you get off the vehicle at the proper destination. Have directions if necessary.

Drivers can assist you from your door to the vehicle and from the vehicle to the door of your destination. Drivers are not permitted in homes or buildings. If you need further assistance have an attendant accompany you.

Be ready and waiting for the vehicle. Drivers will only wait 2 minutes. You will receive an automated courtesy call when the vehicle is in route to your residence.

Have tickets, FareKards or exact cash amount ready when boarding the vehicle. No personal checks, debit/credit cards are accepted.

Provide any child safety seats as needed. The seat must be proper for the age and weight of any children. Any children who do not have proper child safety seats will have services denied.

Pay any outstanding “no show” fee.

Verify any authorizations from human service agencies we received.
