How much does it cost if I pay?
Rates are determined by the mileage from the point of origin to your destination. See table below:

Out-of-County trips
Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and Wake Forest rates are a flat fee. See table below:

FareKards are an easier, more simplified way to pay for General Public Trips. No need to carry cash or fumble for exact change. By purchasing FareKards you can prepay for your transportation AND get a discount off the cash rate.
A FareKard is a sheet of 24 tickets you purchase to ride KARTS.

Each ticket is worth $1.
Each time you board the vehicle, give the driver the number of tickets equivalent to your fare.
FareKards are non-refundable, so have your transportation scheduled before you purchase them. FareKards do not expire.
FareKards may not be used for trips to Wake Forest, Raleigh, Durham, or Chapel Hill.
How can I get FareKards?
FareKards may be purchased at the KARTS office or through the mail using THIS FORM
A regular FareKard sheet costs $20. SeniorKards (age 60 years or over), ADAKards (Americans with Disabilities Act), and KidsKards (children 12 years and under) may purchase sheets at a discounted rate of $18.
Purchases must be cash or money orders only; KARTS does not accept personal checks or debit/credit cards.
KARTS’ drivers do not sell FareKards.
