What is FLEX Ride?

FLEX Ride by KARTS is a Micro Transit service that is funded by NCDOT and USDOT and is a same day demand response service for the City of Henderson. All rides are on a first-come first-served basis depending on the availability and the number of requests we have received.
Who can ride FLEX Ride?

Anyone can ride FLEX Ride within the city limits of Henderson. It is public community transportation.
How can I get a ride on FLEX Ride?

Trip requests are taken Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m.– 5:30 p.m.
Have your fare ready using correct change when boarding the vehicle.
You can download the FLEX Ride by KARTS app for either Apple or Android phones. Set up an account and request your trip through the app.
Or go to www.kartsnc.com and click on Flex Ride to create an account to prepay for your transportation needs on all of KARTS.
How much does it cost if I pay?

FLEX Ride is $6.00 per boarding.
How Does FLEX Ride Work?

It Is Your Responsibility To…

Be ready and waiting for the vehicle. The driver is allowed to wait 5 minutes.
Have your fare ready or funds available on your EZ Pass account when boarding the vehicle.
Pay any outstanding no shows. Another ride will not be scheduled until payment is received.
Cancellations
Notify FLEX Ride as soon as possible if you need to cancel your ride. You can use our app or call our office Monday thru Friday 6:30 – 5:30
No Shows
If FLEX Ride arrives to pick you up and you do not board the vehicle, you will be charged a no-show fee. This fee is equal to the amount of the scheduled one-way transportation. All no-show fees must be paid in the office before another ride will be scheduled.
